Our professionals at Serendipity Med Spa are excited about a newly discovered fat transfer that is used for anti-aging purposes. This procedure is called Selphyl and can be used as both volume restoration and skin rejuvenation. Selphyl is injected under the skin and then activates new skin growth which, in turn, leads to a stronger collagen support structure. Yes! Selphyl is FDA approved.
After drawing blood, the plasma is then separated from the red blood cells by way of centrifuge. The plasma is then stabilized by Sephyl which becomes saturated in good platelets as well as other enzymes. This is then reinjected into the patient imediatlely. Although it is often reffered to as the “Vampire Facelift”, it is not a facelift.
Pain? No need to worry about the pain. It feels about the same as fillers fat transfers but there are numbing creams to be applied to ease discomfort. This is a procedure that can be done in our office in as little as 30 minutes and can be affective after one treatment, depending on the patient. Although local anesthetics are used, this is not a major surgery.
It can take as little as 2 weeks to see results for some. For better results, patients should consider retreatment about every 1 to 3 years.
Studies show that Sephyl, when combined with the body’s own fat cells, enhances volume and fat survival.
